painting pad and watercolour paper. The text was edited with Photoshop. Just the text itself and the listing of wars took me half a day of research. It was so moving to do this artwork. I became angry, sad and thoughtful, when I wrote down all these wars. I had these images in my mind, that I´ve seen on TV and in newspapers in the past 13, 14 years. The children, the victims, the concentraction camps and deportation trains, Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, U.S. soldiers in Vietnam... It was really discouraging, when I almost had wrote half the page, but still hadn´t reached the worst of all wars yet: World War II. When you write down the names of the same countries all the time, you start asking your self what is wrong with humanity. The worst for me were the numerals like "First" "Second" and even "Third" like in "Second Zhili-Fengtian War". I always thought humans would be able to learn. After all it really made me sad. I´ve one big request. Please, please let´s not make the same mistakes all over again! And I´ve another request: After dealing with the topic of war all the day, I really need some peace. I´d like YOU to write me a note with the happiest most peaceful moment in your life. I´ll try to make an artwork out of all the little stories. I´d be sooo soo pleased if you wrote me just a tiny sentence. Thank you. And if you want you can of course ask other people (your sister your, Mom, your Dad, your grandparents or your friends) and send me their story. I´d just love to get as much as possible to create a really peaceful piece of art. Btw: Ein unglaublich aussagekräftiges Bild - was wirklich zum Nachdenken anregt.
zum Bild: wie immer eine gute Arbeit. Ich mag auch die starken Kontraste und die triste, düstere Stimmung. Es passt zu einem Thema, dass einen beim Nachdenken so depressiv macht.

Hm...was das andere angeht. Da kann ich dir nicht ganz zustimmen. Ich mein, der großteil der Bevolkerung kann ja nichts dafür keinen Zugang zu Bildung zu haben und somit anfällig für MAnipulation zu sein. Krieg ist heutzutage oft eine Sache der Gebildeten. Natürlich nicht immer, aber Manipulatöre benötigen ja auch ein Stückchen Intellekt.
Wie dem auch sei. Krieg ist nie eine Lösung. Auch wenn sich das vielleicht nie ändern wird, lohnt es sich diesen Standpunkt zu vertreten udn seis nur in den kleinen Konflikten im eigenen Leben. Man muss es ja nicht gleich globalpolitisch verwirklichen. Im kleinen fängts an.
Naja ich glaub du weißt was ich sagen will.
Und ja im hintergrund sind die Kriege der letzten hundert Jare verarbeitet wenn sie auch zum Teil vom Berg verdeckt werden. Aber im Orginal sind sie drauf.
